Metalloobrabotka 2024 is Russia’s major event that reflects all areas of the mechanical engineering industry. It will give a complete picture of market trends, demonstrate advanced developments of Russian and foreign manufacturers of machine-tool products, and serve as the main platform for signing major contracts.

Show Highlights

Metalloobrabotka 2024 impresses with its scale, number of exhibitors and visitors, and range of exhibited equipment.  

Thanks to the unique technical capabilities of EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds, industry professionals will see and evaluate equipment in operation, including energy-intensive and large-sized machines.

The show has grown by 30% in terms of exhibitor numbers and 25% in terms of floor space compared to last year and is on track for an all-time high.

The Republic of Belarus traditionally presents its national pavilion, the area of which has increased 1.5 times. This year’s exhibitors include Baranovichi Plant of Automatic Lines, Baranovichi Machine Tool Accessories Plant, BelTAPAZ, NPO Vektor, VI-MENS, Vistan, Gomel Machine Tools and Assemblies Plant, Lean-Concept Engineering Center, Krasny Borets Machine-Tool Plant, Kuzlitmash, MZOR, Rontek Machine Tool, Homiel Plant of Special Instrument and Technological Equipment, etc.

The number of companies from China has doubled. This year more than 600 companies will present their products at the show.  

There is also a growing interest in the exhibition from companies from India. This country’s exhibitors include Alfa Precision Technologies Private Ltd., Bhagwansons Co., Electropneumatics & Hydraulics (I) Pvt. Ltd., Surface Finishing Equipment Co., etc.

A special pavilion of Russian manufacturers, who demonstrate the entire production cycle, is arranged with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. Its exhibitors include Stan, Belgorod Safonov Abrasive Plant, OKB Bulat, Dmitrov Milling Machine Plant, Ishimbai Machine Repair Plant, STP Perm Factory Metal Centers, Spetsinstrument, Laser Center, IRE-Polus, Lassard, UZTS, etc.  

The Association for Additive Technologies Development will have a group stand and organise the Panel on Mechanisms of State Support for Development of Additive Technologies as Tools to Ensure Technological Sovereignty and the Research-to-Practice Conference on Development of Technologies and Materials Based on Industry Leaders. 

The Robotics section will feature a group stand of the Consortium of Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems.

For the first time, the Laser Technologies and Equipment sector will be arranged in a separate pavilion. This section can be found in Pavilion No. 8, Halls 1 and 2.

Relevant universities and promising start-ups hold a strong place in the exhibition programme. They focus on ensuring digital transformation in the metalworking industry.

The Science and Vocational Education section will present educational programmes and technological innovations of such Russian universities as Stankin Moscow State University of Technology, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University, MISIS National University of Science and Technology, RUDN University, Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Tomsk State University, Samara Polytech, and Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Conference programme

Metalloobrabotka 2024 will be accompanied by an extensive conference programme, where participants will discuss pressing problems and identify solutions and prospects for further growth of the industry.

The key organisers will be the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Centre of Basic Industries Development, Zyfra Group, relevant associations, and sponsors and partners of Metalloobrabotka 2024.  

The show and its conference programme will be opened with the Plenary Meeting on the Future of Machine Tool Industry. Trends and Prospects (11.00, Pavilion No.2, Blue Hall). It will be organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Centre of Basic Industries Development, and EXPOCENTRE AO. The discussion will focus on be technological sovereignty in the Russian machine tool industry and activities on creating the necessary infrastructure.

The Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and EXPOCENTRE AO will hold the International Trade and Industry Congress on Investments. Development. Cooperation. Separate sessions will be dedicated to interregional cooperation and engineering, international industrial cooperation in the development of the NGV market, investments in Russia’s technological development, and problems of development and competitiveness of the Russian industry under current conditions. It will also include the Subcontract and Engineering Exchange, which has already become a regular platform for finding industrial cooperation partners.

A series of important events will be organised by Zyfra Group and EXPOCENTRE AO.

At the Panel on the Results of the Year: Work of IT Community in Implementing the Requests of the Industrial Sector, top managers of the largest Russian IT companies responsible for the development of software for domestic industrial enterprises will discuss the creation of technical innovations that are developed on the basis of new trends and industry demands.

The participants in the Analysis Session on Problems of Staffing Industrial Enterprises and Talent Management in the Context of ‘Demographic Hole’ will discuss issues of recruitment, adaptation and professional retraining of personnel for industrial enterprises. They will share successful practices from representatives of industrial enterprises and leading educational institutions.

The speakers at the Panel on Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Practical Applications in Machine Building will present real practices of using AI and ML at industrial enterprises, share the results and outline a vector for further development of this area. 

The Plenary Session for representatives of industrial enterprises on Experience and Prospects of Enterprise Management Through Data will help sharing experience in creating a system of effective management through data.  

The Panel on Issues of Development of Own CNC Systems and High Tech Equipment in Russia will be dedicated to the questions of what machines to purchase, what CNC systems they are equipped with, how their aftersale support is provided,  and what opportunities are available for integration of the equipment into production monitoring and control systems.

The protection of critical infrastructure of industrial enterprises and changes in Russian legislation that will come into force on 1 January 2025 will be discussed during the Panel on Technological Sovereignty and Protection of Critical Infrastructure of Enterprises in the Face of New Challenges.

During this series of panels, representatives of Zyfra Group will share the results of the development of Zyfra MDC, its new capabilities and prospects for further product development, outline the opportunities for obtaining rapid effects from the digitalisation of industrial enterprises, talk about state support in practice, and joint development through the exchange of best practices of manufacturers. A case study session will be aimed at sharing experience in creating a system of effective robotised production management.

The speakers of the Panel on Joint Development Through the Exchange of Manufacturers’ Best Practices will present real cases of manufacturers whose thinking allowed them to see new opportunities in mistakes.

The exhibition will also include the OEE Awards 2024 ceremony and a case study session for the winners. The OEE awards identifies and encourages teams of different enterprises that have implemented digitalisation projects at various levels and areas of production.

The participants in the Panel Session on Digital Transformation of the Production Sector will present state support tools, analytical support and justification of digital transformation projects. The Panel on Establishment of Support Infrastructure will also be very interesting to the show participants and visitors. The events will be organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Centre of Basic Industries Development, Zyfra Group, and EXPOCENTRE AO.

The participants of panels organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Centre of Basic Industries Development and EXPOCENTRE AO will speak about implementation of goals and objectives of the Machine Tool Industry National Project, the system of interaction between scientific and educational institutions and machine tool and heavy engineering enterprises, industrial design in Russia, as well as the future of design and reverse engineering.
